What is Manda’s English Playroom? | マンダズ・イングリッシュ・プレイルームとは何ですか？

We are an online space for families in Japan that focuses on learning through play. Unlike traditional English schools, we don’t do formal "lessons." Instead, we provide an immersive environment where children can experience English naturally through creative activities, stories, and social interaction.

私たちは、日本のこどもたちとご家族のためのオンライン・スペースです。「遊びを通して学ぶ」ことを大切にしています。従来の英語教室のような「レッスン」ではなく、クリエイティブな活動や絵本、交流を通して、自然に英語を体験できる環境を提供しています。

 

Who is Meppie?  | メッピー（Meppie）って誰ですか？

Meppie is our official mascot! You’ll see this friendly unicorn across our materials and events, helping to make the English-learning journey magical and fun for our students.

メッピーは私たちの公式マスコットです！教材やイベントに登場するフレンドリーなユニコーンで、みんなの英語学習の道のりを魔法のように楽しく彩ってくれます。

What kind of programs do you offer? | どのようなプログラムがありますか？

We offer several interactive programs designed to spark curiosity:

好奇心を刺激する、体験型のプログラムをご用意しています

• Manda’s Creative Storytime: An engaging storytelling session held every Friday at 7:15 PM.

マンダズ・クリエイティブ・ストーリータイム： 毎週金曜日 午後7時15分から開催される、わくわくする読み聞かせセッションです。

• Creative Kids Club: A project-based club where kids use their hands and their imaginations.

クリエイティブ・キッズ・クラブ： 手と想像力を使ってプロジェクトに取り組むクラブです。

• Creative Reading Program: A fun way to build literacy and a love for books.

クリエイティブ・リーディング・プログラム： 読解力を養い、本が大好きになる楽しいプログラムです。

• English Experience Days: Themed monthly events for ages 3–5 that include role-play, crafts, and games.

イングリッシュ・エクスペリエンス・デイ： 3歳〜5歳を対象とした月替わりのテーマ別イベントです。ごっこ遊びや工作、ゲームを楽しみます。

Does my child need to speak English already?  | 子供がすでに英語を話せなくても大丈夫ですか？

Not at all! Our environment is designed to be supportive for all levels. Because we focus on "doing" and "playing," children often pick up vocabulary and phrases through context and movement.

もちろんです！あらゆるレベルのお子様をサポートできるよう設計されています。「実際にやってみる」「遊ぶ」ことに集中するため、文脈や動きを通して自然に単語やフレーズを身につけていくことができます。

What age group is the Playroom for? | 対象年齢は何歳ですか？

While we have specific events tailored for younger children (ages 3–5), our various clubs and storytime sessions are generally designed for children up to age 12.

3歳〜5歳向けの特別イベントもあれば、クラブやストーリータイムなど、基本的には12歳までのお子様を対象としています。

 

Teaching Philosophy | 指導理念

Why "Play" instead of "Teaching"? | なぜ「教える」のではなく「遊び」なのですか？

We believe that children learn best when they are relaxed and having fun. By focusing on creative activities, we remove the "fear of being wrong" and replace it with the "joy of doing," which builds confidence.

子供たちはリラックスして楽しんでいる時に最もよく学ぶと信じているからです。クリエイティブな活動を通じて「間違える怖さ」を取り除き、「やってみる喜び」に変えることで、自信を育みます。
